Levels & accents πŸ“Š

When picking a video, level and accent are the two most important indicators.

RedKiwi content has 3 levels:

LevelNameWhat it’s like
1Easy 🟒For beginners β€” clear pronunciation, basic expressions
2Normal 🟑Intermediate β€” everyday conversation pace and vocabulary
3Hard πŸ”΄Advanced β€” fast speech, technical or idiomatic expressions
  1. 🌱 Start at Easy β€” get a feel for it
  2. πŸ“š After ~10 Easy videos, try Normal
  3. πŸš€ Once Normal feels comfortable, move to Hard

Easy to mix up.

  • Sentence count = how many sentences are in the video β†’ length indicator
  • Level = how hard the video is β†’ difficulty indicator

So you’ll see combos like β€œEasy with Long length” or β€œHard with Short length.”

In search filters, Difficulty and Length of content are independent. β†’ Search & filters

Three main accents are supported:

The largest pool, and the default for most English learning. Hollywood movies, sitcoms (Friends, etc.), CNN-style news.

Different rhythm and intonation from US, with some vocabulary differences (e.g., lift vs. elevator). Harry Potter, BBC, British dramas.

One of the most distinctive accents, with characteristic vowel sounds. There’s less content available, but worth listening to occasionally for global English exposure.
