How to start
Section titled “How to start”From onboarding
Section titled “From onboarding”Right after signing up, the “Start free trial” button is offered as part of onboarding.
From settings
Section titled “From settings”Want to start later? Any time:
- Profile tab → Membership info section
- Tap “Start free trial”
You need a payment method connected to your App Store / Google Play account. You won’t be charged during the trial, but it’s required for the auto-renew that follows.
⚠️ Watch out for auto-renewal
Section titled “⚠️ Watch out for auto-renewal”The trial automatically converts to a paid subscription when it ends. To prevent the auto-charge, you have to cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. This is the official Apple / Google policy on both sides.
🍎 iPhone
Section titled “🍎 iPhone”Settings app → [Your name] → Subscriptions → RedKiwi → “Cancel Subscription”
“If you signed up for a free or discounted trial subscription and you don’t want to renew it, cancel it at least 24 hours before the trial ends.” — Apple Support — How to cancel a subscription from Apple
🤖 Android (Google Play)
Section titled “🤖 Android (Google Play)”Play Store app → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → RedKiwi → “Cancel subscription”
“Cancel your subscription before the trial period ends. Approval for the next billing cycle can appear up to 24 hours before it starts, so it’s safer to cancel with some lead time.” — Google Play Help — Cancel, pause, or change a subscription
Cancellation survey
Section titled “Cancellation survey”When you cancel the trial, the app may show a cancellation reason survey. It’s for product improvement, and it’s optional.
Can I get the trial again?
Section titled “Can I get the trial again?”As a rule, only once. Re-signing up with the same email, or deleting your account and re-joining, won’t re-enable the trial.
That said, the most reliable check is the in-app purchase screen. If, on the Apple App Store / Google Play purchase sheet, you see a “free trial” label, you’re eligible. If the price shows directly without that label, you’ve already used your trial.
If I cancel right after starting, do I still get the 3 days?
Section titled “If I cancel right after starting, do I still get the 3 days?”Yes! Even if you cancel immediately, you keep Premium for the full 3-day trial period. Cancellation only blocks auto-renewal.
What happens to my study data after the trial?
Section titled “What happens to my study data after the trial?”Your record stays. Even when you go back to free, your streak, saved words, and expressions all carry over. Premium-only stuff (unlimited study, AI Coach) just gets locked again.
I think I got charged during the trial period
Section titled “I think I got charged during the trial period”You shouldn’t be charged during the trial as a rule, but a few situations can show up like a charge on your statement:
- Pre-authorization (auth hold) — Apple / Google place a temporary hold to verify the payment method. It’s not an actual charge; it auto-releases or converts within a few days.
- Renewal processing right before the trial ends — Google Play can begin renewal authorization up to 24 hours before the next billing cycle.
- An account that has already used the trial — the trial doesn’t apply, so you’re charged immediately at signup. If the purchase screen showed a price without the “free trial” label, this is the case.
Check the exact item in your Apple / Google billing history first. If something looks off, follow Refunds and contact support.
I started the trial but Premium isn’t unlocked
Section titled “I started the trial but Premium isn’t unlocked”On the Purchase screen, scroll to the bottom — there’s a “Restore Purchase” button. Tap it. If that doesn’t help, contact support.
